Consider Ridgewood for Your New Home

Ridgewood real estate has taken off in recent years, thanks to its proximity to New York City. Although the town has less than 25,000 people living in it, that number is set to rise as people begin taking advantage of this quiet town’s picturesque real-estate market.

Another reason is the nearby Ridgewood country club, which is actually located in the city of Paramus. It was actually founded in Ridgewood back in 1890, but was moved to Paramus in 1926. The course features twenty-seven holes that were all designed by the legendary A. W. Tillinghast.

In recent years, the club has put eight million dollars into revamping the grounds. Among other things, this project includes twenty-six new tees. There will be a new irrigation system as well. Perhaps most interesting, the bunkers designed for the original twenty seven holes will all be refurbished.

The golf course has a number of awards to its name. Golfweek Magazine listed it in the top hundred classical courses in  the U.S. Golf magazine also put it in the top hundred overall.

Over the years, Ridgewood Country Club has also hosted a number of notable events. They include the 2008 and 2010 Barclays, the 2001 Senior PGA Championship and the 1990 U.S. Senior Open.

There are a number of reasons to move to Ridgewood, New Jersey. The market’s never been better; the community is great; and Ridgewood Country Club leaves little to be desired.
