Cleaning a white couch

Written by The Foam Factory

A white couch lends an air of sophistication and calms to any home. Unfortunately, white couches are also the easiest to get dirty. Even the smallest speck of dirt or spill will show. Clean the couch with care, to avoid spreading the blemish further. Here is a step-by-step guide to cleaning a white couch:

The first step is to vacuum the entire couch, especially between the seams of the seat backs and other panels. We do this to prevent spreading any existing dirt in the seams from spreading during the clean process.

Now use a lint roller to remove any surface pet dander, fuzz, and little bits of dirt.

The cleaning solution we use is a mixture of baking soda and club soda.

Place enough of the paste mixture to cover the stain using a clean cloth. Let the paste dry. Once it is dry, use the vacuum to remove it.

Now use a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water on the stain. Spray the solution and leave it for a few minutes. Do not wipe the stain. Instead, blot it and prevent it spreading.

You can also use any off-the-shelf cleaning products. Just remember to test it on a hidden part of the couch to ensure that it does not damage the fabric or the seat foam.
