Wagner has been growing steadily, but while it looks rather clean heading down the highway, there are some serious drug and gang issues that have been cropping up. It does have a business district that is doing well, a very good community hospital, and a school system that's at least fair to good.

Your cousin probably was talking about Fort Randall Casino. It's about 9 miles west of Wagner, and probably one of the better places to eat in the area, too. Wagner's pretty small, but there are some ok stores, and with small town size comes small town atmosphere. People are friendly and will know you by name after a visit or two.
